Wall

The wall is a space of dialogue and exchange. Every painting on this website is photographed on the same section of white wall under daylight conditions. It’s an arena where paintings play out a visual narrative set up unexpected even frictional relationships. It’s a Simple concept. Each work that in generate in the studio enters the game. An entity taken from memory and experience. Once on the wall intentions melt away from any obvious subservience as to what impelled the work into being. Thrown into a rolling dialogue borrowing but ejecting the generated issue based logic of art and social media. Carved away; Buried; obscured; revealed. Painting as I perceive it, or as I now accept it is an interlaced time shift. The time scale through each work is years or a better of hours. Some works have been stripped and ground away and are still whats underneath seeps to the surface.

Each work could in the game fights for it’s imagined self. Each arrangement constitutes an environment a relational world; a political ecosystem, neighbourhood or community. of where the paintings become themselves elements in narratives and compositional relations. My practice filters elements and experiences of daily life, the environment of the City and a working space more building site and kitchen than studio. My paintings each offer visual fragment distilled implied and yet in the process of making removed an activity removed to another planet
